Under the supervision of the Dean of the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Thajil Al-Maamouri, the Accounting Studies Department at the Institute, as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week activities, held a scientific seminar entitled “Global Warming and the Auditor’s Role According to Assurance Relationship Standard 3410” in the Institute’s hall. The seminar was held in the institute’s hall and was presented by Professor Dr. Khawla Hussein Hamdan, a lecturer in the Department of Accounting Studies at the institute. A number of employees and lecturers at the institute participated in the seminar.
The seminar addressed Iraqi environmental laws and regulations related to environmental protection, international agreements to which Iraq is a signatory, types of emissions and their sources, their impact on the environment, and methods for reducing emissions. It also included an audit report on greenhouse gas emissions management and its impact on climate elements and the environment.
These activities are classified within the Environment and Sustainability Goals in achieving Goal (11) to ensure that cities and human settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
